What is copper sulfate and what are its benefits ?
Copper (II) Sulfate Pentahydrate
What is it and what are its benefits?
Chemical Name : Copper (II) Sulfate
Structural Formula : CuSO4.5H2O
Copper (II) sulfate is a compound with the chemical formula CuSO4.5H2O
This salt is in the form of a compound with and without water in the molecule. In the case
where there is no water in the molecule, it will appear white-gray. If there is water in the
molecule (hydrated form, CuSO4.5H2O), it will be blue.
Copper sulfate is a copper compound, which the ancient Egyptians used as a dye. It is still
used today. It is also used in the plating industry. In the fishery, copper sulfate is used to
prevent algae and algae in water sources. The toxicity of copper compounds is not as severe
as lead and mercury compounds. However, caution must be exercised when using it to avoid
contact with the skin or breathing in the dust.
Uses: In the livestock sector, it is used as a feed additive to increase copper deficiency in
animals. Stimulating growth in fattening pigs, piglets and chicken farms. In the agricultural
sector, it is used to: Increase copper minerals in plants, spray to prevent pests, prevent and kill
all types of green plankton in aquaculture farms. Treat and condition water, swimming pools. In
the industrial sector, it is used in the metal plating industry, bleaching chemicals.
Used in casting copper alloys, used in Electroplating (not very soluble in water).
